Newcastle Eagles’ very own Darius Defoe is a Midnight Madness ‘Hall of Fame’ player who currently holds the record as the single highest points scorer on the Ball Without Bias system.
Newcastle Eagles’ Star Player, Darius Defoe, said, “I’ve got some great memories playing in the Midnight Madness competition. I know how fantastic it is to win as I’ve joined the MM Travel Team countless times before, travelling the world to play in international tournaments including New York, Paris, LA and Chicago. It’s a great chance for young players to gain experience, travel the world and play against people outside of the UK. Not only that, but Midnight Madness is great fun and a really well organised event. I hope as many players as possible take part, not only from Newcastle, but the North East too. And even if you don’t play, the competition is great to watch and I want everyone to get behind those taking part!”
General Manager of Newcastle Eagles, Deirdre L. Tozer-Hayes, said, “Newcastle Eagles are thrilled to partner with Midnight Madness to bring one of Britian’s largest basketball tournaments back to the Northeast and home to the most successful basketball club in the British Basketball League (BBL).”
The Midnight Madness Final Night is happening on Friday 28th August 2015 and will be showcasing the best in hoops and entertainment, including the World Class Dunk Competition. This event is fast approaching so visit www.midnightmadness.tv to book your tickets.
