Despite both Drew Lasker and Charles Smith being absent from Northumbria University’s 1st Team, it did not prevent Marc Steutel’s side raising their winning record to 3 – 0 for the season with an excellent road win at Sheffield on Wednesday night.

The two remaining Eagles, Darius Defoe and Scott Martin were the dominant forces and the cornerstone of another good and solid performance that produced the final score line of 102 – 88.  Both Eagles forwards netted 27 points to lead the team in scoring.

Their was also another fine performance from Jack Thompson who followed up last weeks’ top scoring effort with a 16-point haul whilst Captain Mick Di Stasio and Lewis Champion also hit double-figures with 11 a-piece.  Damoy Robertson with 6, Garnett Gayle 2 and Tommy Devitt 1 made up the rest of Northumbria’s scoring on another good night.
