GB Team to play Macedonia at Northumbria University on 8th August 2010

The new season is not far away and I am sure that you can hardly wait for it to start. However there is a way to feed your addiction. The club has been working, in conjunction with both Northumbria University and Team GB, to bring a Team GB international to the region, for the first time.
Northumbria University Sport Central, Newcastle’s brand new sport’s venue, will open its doors to the public for the first time, to host GB Standard Life Men’s basketball, as they take on Macedonia in the EuroBasket 2011 qualifier on 8th August 2010. The GB team, who topped their group the thrill in the last European Championship qualifying campaign in 2008, will be hoping to repeat their exploits in order to qualify for the 2011 Eurobasket finals in Lithuania.

The game is the first of the Game On 2010 series, presented by Standard Life, the GB’s squad is set to feature Chicago Bulls captain Luol Deng and Newcastle Eagles’ very own, Drew Sullivan.
